November 2000

Russell R.,

Thanks for the nice words about the piece. Saw it on your site and thought it looked great! I thought the paragraph breaks were just fine. You can credit me however you like, though it would be good if you used my full name, Shawn Ohler, and said the story first appeared in the Edmonton Journal, where I work as a reporter. Some other info about me, if you want it:

I used to cover the Arctic for the National Post, a national Canadian daily newspaper based in Toronto (like the Globe and Mail, which you may have heard of...) I just wrote a book called 100 Days in the Jungle, which is the story of some Canadian oil workers (and an American) who were kidnapped in the Ecuadorian jungle and held captive for - you guessed it - 100 days. It's out now on Key Porter Books, a Toronto publisher.

Er, that's about it. Take care. And keep up the great work on the site.
